On 4th May 2005, the first
transmission from Imani radio hit the airwaves across the North Rift, Western Kenya and
some parts of Eastern Uganda. For a very long time, the residence of these areas had no
choice but to listen to secular stations. This year on 4th May, we marked our
third anniversary that was very colorful. Our partners joined us at ICM Seminary to give
glory to God for His faithfulness that He has shown us since we started serving Him
through Radio broadcast.
Speaking during the occasion, Imani Radio Director Ptallah Butaki said it was neither by
power nor by might but it is all because of the power of God. Faith Radio team from the USA
led by Scott Beigle who is the faith Radio president and co-founder of Imani Radio Kitale
also graced the occasion. In attendance were local government leaders and servants of God
from different places and ministries.
Imani Radio presented awards to various leaders in response to their impact in the society
either spiritually or socially. Those awarded included Catholic Bishop for Kitale Diocese
Morris Crowley for his efforts in peace building and reconciliation among warring groups
in the region. Present also was ICM Kenya Executive Director Rev. Steven Mairori who
thanked the Faith Radio team for their continual support of Imani Radio. The founder of
ICM Dr. Phil Walker was also among the dignitaries that attended our anniversary.
The ICM women ministry did a great job and we had an anniversary cake that
was cut and shared among the invited guests. It is our prayer that this ministry will live
to accomplish the purpose of its existence. |
