PRISONERS FOR CHRIST INSIDE PRISON

While He was still here on earth two thousand years ago, Jesus used to visit  villages and big cities. That is why he was able to reach out to the Samaritan woman in a village at one time and also Bartholomew in the city of Jericho at another time. Imani Radio has since its inception presented programmes and outreach ministries that focus on touching the un-reached and those in dire need. In the beginning of this month, we were blessed to have guests from the Liberty Church in California led by Pastor Mark Beigle. On 2nd September we visited Kapenguria prisons and we saw the Lord moving in a mighty way. After ministering to the prisoners about the love of God, a time for the alter call came and more than 20 prisoners gave their lives to Jesus and we give God the glory.

It was a great joy to see God accepting His children through the prayer of repentance and reconciliation. During our last visit in May to this same prison, we donated a Television set. The good news is that the TV is now being used as a training aid to seventeen inmates who are taking a course that will see them graduate and become better servants of God out side there after their sentence.

After the visit to the prisons in the morning, the team visited a small town called Chepareria in the afternoon. This town is situated along the Kitale Lodwar main highway and is about 30 minutes drive from Makutano. We did a powerful rally in the Redeemed Gospel church where more than 400 people from different churches gathered as the body of Christ to worship the Lord. One of the Pastors that have been serving in that town for more than 30 years said it was the first time that they had seen a Radio station visiting the town. By the way Kenya has more than 100 FM stations!!!  But out of all these, it is only Imani Radio that has had a direct impact with the people of Chepareria and other small towns.

The people of Chepareria received the double potion of the gospel. After powerful sermons from Art Cobb and Pastor Mark Beigle, Imani Radio presented gifts that included ties for pastors, reading materials, children’s wear and solar powered radios among other goodies.    It was a blessing ministering to the people of Chepareria and witnessing what the Lord is doing in the lives of many through the ministry of Imani Radio. The residents testified that since Imani Radio hit the airwaves, it has been the most listened to radio in the area. We also bear witness to this testimony because most of the business premises in this small town tune to 88.8 fm. It is our prayer that we will continue impacting many through the gospel of Jesus Christ.
